The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced plans to introduce a new meter that sings when you are about to be disconnected in an effort to ensure that people pay their electricity bills on time.

The PRO predicts that the new meter will significantly increase the company’s revenue. Mr. April assured the media that the meter will continue to sing, “Sika MP3 Dede” to customers who fail to pay their bills on time and announce at the end, “ECG Is Coming ooo, Pay Now”.

Yes, Yes, I know, that was too good to be true eerh!

Meanwhile, the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) is performing maintenance work at Atuabo, which has resulted in a shortfall in power generation, according to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

As a result, the ECG has published a load management schedule for the hours of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, through Friday, April 7.

The Ministry of Energy said in a statement that it is consistent with the “Dum Siesie” program, which aims to guarantee a reliable power supply through necessary and effective maintenance activities.

However, the Ministry has noted that additional gas, including heavy fuel oil (HFO) and light crude oil (LCO), is being purchased from Nigeria in order to mitigate the effects of the shutdown.
