Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has has finally broken silence on Marcus Rashford’s reluctance to agreeing new contract with his boyhood club.
Recall Rashford dismissed rumors that contract negotiations with Manchester United have stalled, calling them “nonsense.”

The talented forward’s current contract expires next summer, and there is currently no agreement on an extension.
As a result, there were some rumors that Rashford might be leaving the team, especially in light of Paris Saint-Germain’s interest. However, the England star responded to those rumors on Twitter.
During ten Hag’s press conference earlier today ahead of their big game against Newcastle United at St. James Park on Sunday, he was asked about the current situation amidst Rashford contract talks.
In reaction, Erik ten Hag said: “It’s an internal process. We focus on winning games, also planning for the future so in the back we’re working on that. It’s about agents, it’s about football director John Murtough, Rashy and I are focusing on performing.”
The former Ajax manager stressed that he will pleased to have both David de Gea and Marcus Rashford in his team next season.
Meanwhile, ten Hag has denied any knowledge of Luke Shaw getting a contract renewal. It has been reported that Shaw has penned down a four-year contract extension at Man United.
According to ten Hag, John Murtough is yet to update him on contract matters as he is focused on preparing the squad to win games.

“If he signed, I don’t know, I haven’t heard, John didn’t inform me until now. I have to wait for that. If true, I am pleased. We definitely want to keep him because he’s a really important player for our team,” he said.
Given the uncertainty caused by the ongoing takeover saga and their reluctance to break their newly established “Ronaldo rule” and accept terms of more than £300,000-a-week, United’s delay in offering a new contract to players is at least partially understandable.
Rashford, who has already scored 27 goals this season across all competitions, is likely to want guarantees for the magical season he is currently having.
