Many people are surprised by Shatta Wale’s decision to think about returning to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), especially his devoted fans.

The Ghanaian dancehall musician had previously vowed not to participate in the award program after receiving a two-year suspension.

Shatta Wale indicated in an interview for Hitz FM’s U Say Wetin program that he would be willing to take part in the annual Ghana Music Awards ceremony.

He said “VGMA is my ex-girlfriend. Anytime they want to come back, I am here.

“They should also find someone from the office to come and invite me to come on board, and it will be beautiful. “I feel because they are the ones organising this, there should be a nice approach.”

Some of the Shatta Movement, his devoted fanbase, are upset about this comment.

One supporter brought up the Shatta Movement leader’s purported blood oath to never return to the VGMAs on Facebook.

Komfanko De SM General, also known as Elvisson Kofi Komfanko, shared a picture of a bloody hand on Facebook along with a caption.

“This is an oath taken by Shatta Wale never to join VGMAs again. This was taken after he was granted bail from police custody after the VGMA brouhaha. If he has forgotten, I’m reminding him. It was not just any statement, but blood was included. Let’s stay focused. Enough of being tagged and called confused and inconsistent. We are getting tired of it. Thank you.”

Other Shatta Movement participants expressed their displeasure in the comment section as well:

Drilla Pounds wrote, “Bro, trust me, if wale goes back to them, I swear, I’m out of the camp.”

Ma Salty wrote, “I don’t know who dey advice am. But I just want to use ur TL to tell some dumb SM fans to say most of us are wise now.”

Gasor Mensah wrote, “I said this yesterday on my wall. Sometimes Shatta Wale should stop playing with us.”

Shatta Wale announced on Thursday, March 23, 2023, that he was thinking about entering the Ghana music awards program.

Shatta Wale, a dancehall performer from Ghana, has stated that he has no animosity toward the VGMA and that, if invited, he would take part in the awards program.

The performer continued by saying that he wants to work with the award program to support the entertainment sector.
