In response to allegations that he is no longer friends with his colleague John Dumelo, Ghanaian actor Fred Nuamah, who is lacing up his boots to run for the parliamentary seat at Ayawaso West Wuogon on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has responded.
He claims that John is actually his brother and not a friend.
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, Fred Nuamah discussed whether or not his decision to run for the Ayawaso West parliamentary seat on the NDC platform against John Dumelo has strained their friendship on UTV’s United Showbiz.
John Dumelo claimed last week that he and Fred were no longer friends, contradicting earlier claims that he had given Fred his approval to run for office.
Intriguingly, Fred reaffirmed that John is not his friend but rather his brother and that he would not permit politics to destroy their brotherhood.

“John is not my friend, he is my brother and I would never allow politics to come between us nor would I allow politics to destroy our brotherhood,” he said.
“Aside from John being a brother to me, the NDC is one party, so this controversy between John and I, would be settled at home and for all you know, the issue may have already been resolved,” he added.
He claimed that only calls from Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency residents and party supporters had any bearing on his choice to run against his brother for the NDC’s parliamentary seat.
Film producer and director Fred Nuamah is most well-known for his work on the film The Game.
Additionally, he is the creator and CEO of the annual award ceremony that honors excellence in the film industry, the Ghana Movie Awards and Ghana TV series Awards.
