Happiest Countries In Africa 2023 – Ghana’s position among the happiest nations in the world has dramatically declined.
The tiny West African nation was once among the happiest nations on the continent, ranking among the top 10.
Ghana is one of the unhappiest countries in the world, according to the latest list of Happiest Countries in America compiled and published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
Finland topped the list for the sixth year in a row, with the Netherlands, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, and Switzerland rounding out the top five.
Mauritius is the only African nation in the top 50, coming in at number 52 overall.
The study makes use of data from international surveys conducted in more than 150 nations. The majority of the data comes from the Gallup World Poll’s life ratings.
Countries are rated according to how happy they are based on the average life evaluations made over the three years prior—in this case, from 2020 to 2022.
The Gallup World Poll is cited by the authors as the main data source for the World Happiness Reports, which they claim use a variety of statistics.
The only African nation on the list of the top 50 happiest nations is Mauritius, which came in at position 52.
