Last year, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, a female student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with close-cropped hair was caught on camera sitting on a chair in a river on campus.

A picture of an unidentified woman sitting quietly in the Bibini River wearing blue overalls went viral on social media. Reports state that this enigmatic show lasted for about 6 hours.

A portion of the student body was horrified by her continued presence in the river because they thought she was performing a ritual there. However, university officials confirmed that she was a student while ruling out any spiritual component.

The statement read, “The purpose of the student’s behavior is not to frighten.”

The student’s action, according to a tweet from Voice of KNUST, “is not to scare any student but it’s an artistic part of a project for some postgraduate students,” it was not intended to scare any students.

After leaving the river, the questioned student commented on the uproar.

According to reports, she claimed that while working with her colleagues on the project, she chose to act out being in the water and did so with joy.
