Award-winning Dancehall artist Stonebwoy has revealed there are certain similarities between the Jamaican Patois and the Ghanaian Twi language

Stonebwoy in an interview with Ebro on the New-York based HOT 97 radio station revealed the Jamaican Patois and Ghanaian Twi language had certain similarities due to the lifestyle and accent as well as disclosing the strong roots Ghana had in the Jamaican society

The official name is Jamaican Creole according to linguists. Patois has outgrown the Jamaican shores as it is one of the widely spoken languages on the African continent with so many singing in the English-based creole language and is spoken as a native language amongst the people of Jamaica

Stonebwoy who is currently on a media tour in New York promoting his upcoming album also revealed his album is going to feature Jamaican Dancehall legend Shaggy as well as the grammy-winning Angelique Kidjo “There are some heavy names on there. I don’t even know if I can even release it right now but I could drop it and I am going to drop it over here [in America]”

The Dancehall star also took the opportunity in reaching out to diasporans to make Ghana their December destination as the people of Ghana are very hospitable “Hundred percent, we love it! Ghanaians are welcoming. We are hospitable people. We are home to everybody. The Ghana situation is fire. There are some landlocked countries that you don’t have varieties. The infrastructure is actually getting there, to be honest. Not only the Ashanti Kingdom; there are several other Kingdoms that need to be explored as well in Ghana, like the Volta, the North, the Western, and the Central. So it’s a beautiful place I would urge travelers to always make Ghana a December destination”
