Dr. Afriyie Akoto, a former minister of agriculture, has started his presidential campaign to run on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ticket in the general election of 2024.
He made mention of how his administration plans to revive Ghana’s faltering economy.
Additionally, he disclosed that since resigning as the agriculture minister, he has been quietly running for office.
“I have been running around the country now for six years. Every year except 2020 when COVID prevented me, I had been going around the country as the Minister for Agriculture because I have been waiting for the party to come out with a date for the primaries, and then I will draw up my programme accordingly. It doesn’t mean, my supporters are asleep. They are very active in all the 16 regions,” he stated.
The men are gradually separating themselves from the boys as the NPP gets ready for its primary elections to choose a flagbearer.
