John Dramani Mahama will start a tour of the Bono East Region today, Friday, March 10, following a very successful campaign launch and tour of the Volta Region.

Within two days, the former president will travel to each of the region’s eleven congressional districts to personally campaign and engage with NDC branch and district executives.

Mr. Mahama announced his intention to run for president of the NDC at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), noting among other things that he will address the party’s delegates, “in all humility, and in response to calls from my party and the generality of the people of Ghana, to offer myself, to serve this country and its people that I love so dearly.”

Mahama asserts that he has no doubt about the size of the task ahead as he attempts to lead the NDC to victory in the 2024 elections, “owing to the level of damage done to our country by this government.”

The John Mahama Campaign will move on from the Bono East Region to the Bono and Ahafo’s regions.

Professor Joshua Alabi, convener of the John Mahama Campaign, former chief of staff Julius Debrah, campaign spokeswoman Joyce Mogtari, former NDC appointees, former MPs, former ambassadors, and regional, constituency, and branch executives of the party are accompanying Mr. Mahama on the tour.

Meanwhile, the military has been advised by the former president John Dramani Mahama to refrain from executing extrajudicial justice against them, adding that many residents and employees of Ashaiman are innocent of this heinous crime.

Following the death of a soldier in the area, some military personnel moved to attack residents of Ashaiman on Tuesday.
