The 44-year-old man is facing two counts of conspiracy and a trial by ordeal, according to pulse.ng.
According to the news website, Chukwunahi committed the crime on February 21, 2023, at Ira Quatres in Ojo, Lagos, according to Dr. Simon Uche, the prosecution’s attorney.
The defendant, according to the evidence presented in court, resorted to bringing their names to the shrine of the deity known as “Arusi Okija” after the miscommunication.
The tenants, Onyeka Ibeabuchi and Chimezie Ezeuka, were then summoned by the fetish priest, who threatened them with death if they failed to show up in person at his shrine by Monday, February 27.
According to the prosecution, Chukwunahi first sought mediation before taking his tenants’ dispute to a Badagry court, but he was dissatisfied with the results.
According to Dr. Uche, the defendant’s offense violated Sections 127 and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Chukwunahi was granted bail in the amount of N300,000 with two sureties in the same amount by Magistrate L.J.K Layeni of the Ojo Magistrate’s Court. The case was then continued for further hearing on Monday, March 20.

In the meantime, a Kenyan man who has long claimed to be Jesus Christ reportedly filed a formal police complaint, alleging that his life is in danger due to alleged plans by some locals to ‘crucify’ him on Good Friday.
According to reports, Eliyu Simiyu learned about the purported schemes being developed by some Bungoma County residents and decided it would be wise to take preventative action.
According to the locals, if he is the Messiah as he has claimed over the years, he would rise from the dead on the third day following his crucifixion and enter heaven like Jesus Christ did.
