    The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has finally reacted after some military men invaded Ashaiman on the early hours on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023 to attack some civilian as a revenge following the death of one young soldier.

    According to the GAF in a press statement released and signed by Director General Public Relations E Aggrey-Quashie, the attack on some innocent civilians of Ashaiman was sanctioned by the Military High Command.

    Per the press release from the GAF, the military operation in Ashaiman was not to avenge their colleague’s death but to fish out some suspected civilians who reportedly have a hand in the killing of the young soldier identified as Trooper Imoro Sherrif.

    The statement added that 184 suspected individuals aged between 21 to 47 has been arrested and will been taken to Ghana Police Headquarter for further interrogations and screening.

    The Ghana Armed Forces also stated emphatically that the military invasion in some communities Tulaku and Taifa in Ashaiman was not targeted at innocent civilians.

    However, the GAF apologized to innocent civilians who were affected due to the operation conducted in the aforementioned areas in Ashaiman.

    Earlier on an unofficial curfew was imposed following a military invasion of the Ashaiman neighborhood over the alleged murder of one of their colleagues.

    Over the weekend, reports surfaced that unidentified assailants had murdered a uniformed soldier in Ashaiman.

    A group of soldiers invaded the neighborhood early on Tuesday morning while it was pouring rain in order to exact revenge on civilians.
