He boasted about some of his government’s accomplishments during his speech and continued with more promises.
According to President Akufo-Addo’sboasts,his administration has built more roads than any other in Ghana’s history.
The President claims that his administration has built both inner-city and intercity roads across the nation using money borrowed from the state, a move he claims will continue to improve transportation for Ghanaians.
Furthermore, the President Akufo-Addo added that law and order are operating more effectively in Ghana under his administration because even motorbike riders now abide by traffic laws by stopping at traffic lights.
According to him, the widely acknowledged improvement in law and order should be attributed to his government’s significant investment in the Ghana Police Service, the hiring of additional officers into the service, as well as the wind of change that is blowing under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Georged Akuffo Dampare.
“Mr Speaker, I will like to state categorically that this government has built more roads than any other in the Fourth Republic … Beyond the construction of roads, this NPP administration has implemented successfully the Ghana Card,” Akufo-Addo said.

Alban Bagbin, the speaker of the house, tried his best to keep the lawmakers under control to prevent needless heckling of the president, but after his address, some of them could be heard chanting, “Nana Addo eeii, all be lie oo”, in a bid to discredit the President’s message.
As a result of the contractors abandoning the projects for lack of payment for completed work and funding for the continuation of other projects, construction of some roads has halted in the interim.
