Nearly four months after the ticketing website crashed due to the overwhelming demand for tickets to Taylor Swift concerts, some Eurovision Song Contest fans were unable to access it on Tuesday.
Tickets for the Eurovision song contest were supposed to go on sale at 7 a.m. ET, according to PA Media, but buyers were greeted with a server error message just before the event.
After ten minutes, according to PA Media, Ticketmaster appeared to be functioning once more, allowing customers to join a virtual line to purchase tickets.
The event’s tickets have already sold out.
When contacted by CNN, Ticketmaster opted not to comment.
When demand for tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour spiked in mid-November, the ticketing website experienced issues that enraged millions of fans who couldn’t get them.
The general public’s ability to purchase tickets to Swift’s concerts was subsequently suspended by Ticketmaster after they were unable to fix the issue, citing “extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand.”
Due to the scandal, US lawmakers are looking into whether Ticketmaster has a monopoly on the sale of event tickets, driving up ticket prices for consumers.
The 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 13 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Although Ukraine won the competition last year, the United Kingdom has agreed to host it on its behalf because it is still at war with Russia.
