Francis Addai Nimoh, and by extension all New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidates, have been urged by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to run a civil and insult-free campaign.
The Asante Monarch asserts that he is aware of Addai Nimoh’s respectworthiness and anticipates that he will continue to exhibit this admirable quality.

In order to win the upcoming NPP elections, Otumfuo advised Addai Nimoh and all other NPP presidential candidates to focus on and campaign about what they could do for their party.
“Don’t insult anyone during your campaign, I am urging you to state and campaign about what you can do to help the NPP to win the polls,” Otumfuo said when Addai Nimoh paid a courtesy call on him.
On Wednesday, Addai Nimoh visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi with throngs of party supporters to formally request Otumfuo’s blessing.
The Asantehene went on to declare emphatically that all of the candidates running for the NPP presidency are his “grandchildren,” reminding them that God would choose one of them to be the party’s flagbearer.
He also pleaded with the NPP delegates, who will cast the votes to choose the party’s presidential nominee, to select a candidate who will win over Ghanaians as a whole rather than just members of the NPP family.
Addai Nimoh, who ran for the NPP presidency in 2014 but finished third, expressed his confidence that he would win this time around with Otumfuo’s support and sage advice.
He claimed that as a native of Sekyere in the Ashanti Region, it was wise for him to ask the Asantehene’s blessing before officially launching his political campaign.
Later, when speaking to journalists, Addai Nimoh urged the NPP delegates to support him, saying he was the best candidate to help the NPP realize its lofty goal of ending the eight-year cycle in government.
“We want to go 12 and 16 years in political office, but we need a new face who is without blemish, who is not in this government and who is a unifier, in order to break the eight in 2024 and remain in government.

“I am the right person, who possesses all the above mentioned unique qualities, so I am passionately appealing to the NPP delegates to vote massively for me to lead our party to break the eight,” he stated.
Former NPP MP for Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region Addai Nimoh made it sound like he had the ability to reenergize the NPP in all 275 constituencies across the nation.
He emphasized that he is the right candidate to lead the nation into prosperity as President in his renewed appeal to the NPP delegates to cast their votes for him in overwhelming numbers when the NPP goes to the polls.
