When President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo visits the Volta Region for the celebration of Ghana’s independence, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the convener of #FixTheCountry, is urging the locals to boo him.
On Monday, March 6, the President, officials from his administration, and other dignitaries are anticipated to fly to Ho, the capital of the Volta Regional, for the 66th event.
It has alternately been held in each of the nation’s regions, and this year it will be hosted by the Volta Region.
The annual celebration honors the sacrifices made by Ghana’s founding fathers to free their country from colonial rule many years ago. However, according to Barker-Vormawor, it is the ideal platform to express the rage and suffering of Ghanaians as a result of the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party administration.

“Boo him louder than he has ever been booed in his life before.
“Let him understand the trauma of his Presidency.
Your ancestors fought for Independence. Singlehandedly Gbedemah kept the Revolution alive when Nkrumah was jailed.
“Your charge on this Independence Day is to express on behalf of all of us, our national indignation to a person that represents Everything that Nkrumah will be repulsed by,” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Last year, Ghanaians who disapprove of the economic crisis, poor management, and corruption, among other things that have characterized the incumbent administration, booed both the President and his vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, at events at various times. One such incident took place in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region and the global hub of the ruling NPP, where locals humiliated the President.
