Daniel McKorley, a businessman and the CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, was found guilty of contempt by the Accra High Court.
Daniel McKorley, also known as McDan, was found guilty after the court determined that he had willfully disobeyed High Court orders regarding a contentious land parcel in East Legon.
A fine of GHc40,000 was levied against him by the High Court (General Jurisdiction), which was presided over by Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo, a Justice of the Court of Appeal sitting as an additional High Court Judge.

The applicant in this case should receive GH15,000 of this fine, the court ruled.
After the respondent forcibly took possession of the in question land, the applicant, Al-Hassan Iddisah, filed a contempt application on May 20 of last year in an effort to uphold the law and its penalties.
He charged Respondent Daniel McKorley with breaking the law by willfully disobeying a High Court order and tarnishing the reputation of the legal system in the process.
