    Over domestic disputes and infidelity, a policeman in Kenya’s Simat village, Kapsaret sub-county, committed suicide by hanging himself.

    An Eldoret central police station employee named Kiplagat Koskei reportedly committed suicide after learning that his estranged wife was allegedly having an extramarital affair.

    The deceased officer, who was described by Eldoret West police boss Edward Masibo as disciplined and hardworking, reportedly had longstanding marital issues with his wife.

    Masibo said; “The officer had resorted to alcohol abuse after discovering that his wife had been unfaithful to him and it is unfortunate that we lost him through such circumstances.

    “Sometimes it is good to share one’s problems with others so that you can be assisted instead of resorting to taking your own life.”

    Journalists were told by neighbors that the deceased had been accusing his wife of adultery, which frequently resulted in physical altercations. a neighbor reported;

    “The officer has been having a misunderstanding with his estranged wife for a long time which would often lead to a fistfight. We did not know it would also lead to the man committing suicide.”

    The police officer’s body was moved from the crime scene to the mortuary at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
