On Friday, February 24, 2023, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) closed nominations for its flagbearer elections.
On February 21, 2023, nomination forms for the presidential and parliamentary races became available.
At a press conference in Accra, Kakra Essamuah, the chairman of the Elections Committee, made this announcement.
Four candidates selected nomination forms to run in the flagbearership elections, he said.

They consist of Kojo Bonsu, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, Ernest Kwaku Kobeah, and former president John Dramani Mahama.
All 275 constituencies are expected to endorse applicants, who are expected to file between March 20 and 22, according to Mr. Essamuah.
However, he has stated that nominations for the parliamentary elections are still being accepted and are anticipated to end on Friday at midnight.
Those seeking the parliamentary seat received nominations.
