After being found guilty last year of child pornography and enticing a minor, R&B singer R. Kelly was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Thursday.
Kelly will serve the majority of his sentence—all but one year—concurrently with a 30-year sentence he received for federal racketeering and s+x trafficking convictions last year, according to Judge Harry Leinenweber.
Kelly, who is 56 years old, could be released from prison when he is about 80 years old, according to this.

A federal judge in his hometown of Chicago denied the prosecution’s request to keep him imprisoned until he was 100 years old.
The judge recognized the horrific nature of Kelly’s crimes and the long-lasting effects they would have on his victims, even though the sentence may allow Kelly to live out the rest of his life without going to prison.
Leinenweber declared, “The nature of this offense is…horrific.
