George Oppong Weah, the president of Liberia, sent a delegation to the late Christian Atsu’s family to express sympathy.
Given that he played football at the highest level, President Weah gets along well with many Ghanaian players.

On Wednesday, the Ballon d’Or winner sent a delegation to the Atsu family home to express his condolences and give the family a $10,000 donation.

The delegation was led by former Ghanaian international Kwame Ayew, who also presented the donation on President Weah’s behalf.
Christian Atsu was found dead in the wreckage following the earthquake in Turkey on Saturday, and his death was officially declared.
This came after several days of active searching in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey.
Abedi Ayew Pele and his family visited the grieving family on Monday and even gave them some things.
On Tuesday, more former players visited the family of a deceased teammate to offer their condolences.

Football players like Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari visited the family of the late Christian Atsu to offer their condolences.
Former Black Stars players Baffour Gyan, Emmanuel Agyamang-Badu, and Haminu Dramani were also in attendance.
On Sunday evening, Atsu’s mortal remains arrived in Ghana. To welcome the body, a brief ceremony was held in the VIP area of the Kotoka International Airport.
