    President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo praised the remarkable transformation of the Ghana Police Department under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

    He announced this when he donated more than one hundred (100) pickup trucks, six hundred (600) motorcycles and six (6) armored personnel carriers (APCs) to the Ghana Police Department, in an event at police headquarters. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

    He said “We’re all witnessing the transformation of the Ghana police service under our very eyes. We see the discipline that has been restored to our roads, the enhanced Police visibility, and general discipline in society under the leadership of the IGP Dr. Akuffo Dampare.”

    “I want to assure him that he has my full support and the support of my government to continue his transformation of the police service,” he noted.

    According to him, the introduction of the bicycles is a further affirmation of the government’s commitment to providing the Police Department with the necessary logistics to help the agency continue to fulfill its policing and protect life and property.

    He said “All regions across the country are soon going to benefit from the services of this specialized unit. These regional FPUs will be spread across one hundred and forty (140) bases in various communities in all the regions. Without any doubt, their presence will enhance greatly security, law, and order in the country.”

    The Police Department, under the leadership of Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has embarked on a transformation program aimed at positioning the Department as one of the best in the country and a model agency for the rest of the police department. world.

    The president said the initiative, which aims to regain the public’s trust, trust and respect while enhancing police legitimacy, has the full backing of the government.

    He said the government is very aware of the efforts of Service personnel, under the dynamic leadership of the Inspector General of Police and members of the Police Management Board, to strengthen targeted activities. consumed in communities that are hitherto notorious for violent crimes. .

    He noted that the ongoing program to strengthen the Service’s manpower requirements is necessary to effectively implement the bold strategic interventions launched by the Service to improve service delivery to the people of Ghana.
