The Bolgatanga Supreme Court has overturned the arrest warrant for Nayiri of the traditional Mamprugu region, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, and his entourage.

A lieutenant colonel Ajibadeck Benjamin Baba (Rtd) pleaded with the court to arrest the Supreme Leader.

But the court, following a unilateral petition heard on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, to amend the arrest warrant has withdrawn the order.

The aforementioned arrest warrant is related to the 15 February unmasking of a new leader of Bawku, who was found to be illegal and convicted.

However, the army failed on Sunday night’s campaign to capture the skinned king Bawku Naba. The government has condemned the shelling, calling it illegal and a threat to national security.

“The Government condemns developments in Nalerigu today February 15, 2023, concerning the purported enskinment of a new Bawku Naba as illegal and a threat to National Security,” a statement released by Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said.

The assertion went even further, ordering safety offerings to arrest and prosecute everyone else who diagnosed himself as Bawku Naba.
