Bryan Achempong, Agriculture Minister-designate  had to plead for clemency when he appeared before the Congressional Appointments Committee for an examination.

Additionally, he asked Minority Leader Ato Forson to handle him with baby gloves based on the affinity they had.

Bryan Achempong was shocked by the questions he was asked and had to avoid calling Ato Forson to calm down before the interrogations.

At one point, Bryan Achempong had to remind Ato Forson of their close friendship by declaring, ”I thought you’re my friend” to plead his cause.

As Minister of National Security at the time of the La Bawaleshie shooting, the Minority Leader questioned the candidate about his alleged involvement in the violence.

He is accused of sending armed National Security officers to the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election site, where they opened fire on the crowd. He denies any involvement in the 2019 incident that left several people injured or disabled.

However, Acheampong’s credibility after the by-election in Ayawaso West Wuogon was questioned by Ato Forson, who also questioned whether he would become food and health minister.
