After the release of school placements for 2023, some parents have rushed to several solution centers of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Over 165,601 students who failed to get schools are expected to undergo the self-placement after they didn’t get any of their first five choices.

In a viral video, an aggrieved mother spoke to the media about her situation and why she had come there.
According to the yet-to-be identified mother, her daughter got an aggregate of 35 but failed to get to a school but her friend who had 39 got her choice school.
The woman noted that her daughter informed her she performed very well during the exams so they are wondering why she got that grade and even failed to get any of the schools she selected.
Adding on, she said her daughter’s friend who got aggregate 39 was placed to her first choice of school.
She mentioned that her daughter chose schools like Aburi girls and Mfantsiman.

As we earlier reported that last Wednesday, Ghana Education Services (GES) announced school placements for graduates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) 2022 at the Senior and Technical High Schools, Teaching Vocational Education and Training (TVET) nationwide.

At a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, February 15, GES said that of the 547,329 students who applied, 538,399 were eligible for placement in various SHSs across the country.
372,780 applicants or 69.24% are also automatically placed in different schools.
GES adds that 165,601 applicants who cannot match their choice of school will have to make their own arrangements.
Ghana Education Services executive director Dr Eric Nkansah also told the media that first-year students should arrive at the school by February 20 to begin the admission process.
