Deborah Seyram Adablah’s lawsuit against First Atlantic Bank and its chief financial officer over allegations of sexual harassment, among other matters, will go to court today.
The complainant, a former national service officer of the bank, accused her financial manager, identified as Kwasi Nimako, of sexual harassment and breaking some promises made to her.
She accused the bank, as the second defendant, of witnessing her and other female workers being sexually abused.
The complainant also alleges that the bank used her and other female employees as sexual bait to lure wealthy male customers into opening accounts.
Starrfm.com.gh reports that the Accra High Court is scheduled to be moved today, Thursday, February 16 to hear the case. Meanwhile, First Atlantic Bank has requested their names be removed from the lawsuit initiated by the former NSS employee.
The financial institution filed a petition on January 24 asking for certain paragraphs of the order to be dismissed.
She asked the court to delete paragraphs 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36 and 37 “on the grounds that they disclosed no reasonable grounds against the petitioner.” .
If the request is approved, it would cripple parts of the summary alleging the bank’s surveillance of female workers was sexually harassed by senior male bank executives.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that First Atlantic Bank has dismissed Kwasi Nimako from his position following the scandal.
