Most decorated African rapper Sarkodie has set a record regarding the escalating controversies since his collaboration with the legendary Bob Marley’s ‘Stir it Up’ remix.
In an interview with Accra-based YFM on Dryve of your Lyfe (#TheDryve) with Kojo Manuel and DJ MIC Smith, Sarkodie talked about the somewhat unflattering conversations on social media.

According to the multi-award winning rapper, negativity continues around his latest relationship with reggae legend Bob Marley doesn’t bother him much knowing the height he’s already reached.
Father-of-one Sarkodie (Ghana Jay Z) explained later on the show that he “expects” criticism, especially at this stage in his burgeoning musical career, and he okay with that.

“The negativity around ‘Stir It Up’ doesn’t bother me because I think that’s just finding it difficult to believe. The stage I’m at in my career now comes with things like this, and I’m fine with it.”

Once again, Sarkodie asserted that his remake of the song Stir It Up with him was the greatest achievement of his musician life. He went on to say that doing a song with Bob Legendary was an unbelievable dream.
“The remake of ‘Stir It Up’ with me on it is the biggest highlight in my life. It’s beyond a dream to have @bobmarley’s family decide put me on a song next to the legend.”

Rapper Sarkodie at one point revealed that he almost jumped at the chance to work on a remake of Bob Marley’s 1973 classic, “Stir It Up.”
The song was released on Friday, January 20, 2023 on all online media platforms.
In a chat on the popular +44 podcast, the Ghanaian artist said he feels he doesn’t deserve to have his voice on the same track as the legendary reggae icon.

“When I had the email, I almost passed it on and not just out of respect, I felt that I was not worthy to lay my vocals next to the legend. I was really hard on myself,” he told Sideman, host of the podcast.
Sarkodie added that while he was considering abandoning the project, “my manager felt it was a big opportunity. But the artist side of me thought about art more than opportunity.
He explained that it was when he was given the original music recorded by Bob Marley in the studio that he started thinking and imagining what he could do.
