Senior Pastor of the Christian Center Assemblies of God in Kumasi, Rev. Osei Karikari Annor, says that the main purpose of men in marriage is not love, affection and sex, but peace and stability.

He made the comment on Prime Morning during a discussion with KMJ about why there have been so many breakdowns in recent marriages.

According to the head pastor, every man’s main goal is to build a peaceful and stable home, that’s why some men cannot marry women they can love. .

“A man can love you, a man can have affection for you but will still not marry you. We don’t marry for love, affection, or sex. We marry for stability [that is, peace], which is what every man is looking for. That is why we hear a lot of men say, ‘I love her, but I can’t marry her’,” he said on Thursday.

He additionally believes that marriage to a lady ought to now no longer be approximately look or education, however instead approximately her capacity to preserve peace and stability.

Pastor Karikari further feels that the current generation of women should inculcate the habit of respect and humility as their mothers have done in recent years.

He said that no woman can solve her marriage problem by fighting or arguing.

On the other hand, he charged men not to be bossy to their wives, as this can be a contributing factor to the lack of respect.

“If you’re always going to exert your authority by always shouting at the woman, at a point in time, she will be fed up with your authoritative nature and also bounce back and talk back at you,” he added.

He called on all men to care, protect and love their wives and children.
