Pastor Victor Kusi Boateng has filed a petition asking the Accra High Court to jail Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for rescinding the restraining order that a bailiff served on him.

The Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Church of Ghana received an interim order to prevent the North Tongu MP from further publishing the dual identity and conflict of interest allegations against him.

When the bailiff approached the lawmaker in the front yard of Accra-based Metro TV on Friday, February 3 to serve a subpoena for him, Ablakwa announced that he was on his way to parliament and so there would be no room for the bailiff to serve him again.

However, the bailiff insisted on the deputy and tried to put the summons in his car, but it fell to the ground. A video uploaded to social media shows Ablakwa violating a court order when the bailiff walked away.

According to Father Kusi Boateng, the MP’s behavior is contempt for the court and therefore he should be sent to prison.

Court issues restraining order on Ablakwa concerning the Prophet’s private matters.Apparently he had been dodging till they caught up with him.

“I am informed by my Counsel and verily believe same to be true that this Honourable Court has the power to commit the Respondent to prison for his conduct to protect the whole administration of justice and serve as a deterrent to other persons,” the man of God said in the contempt motion.

He went on to allege that Ablakwa’s claim that he was on his way to parliament was false and was a way to avoid being served with a court order.

“When the Bailiff of this Honourable Court reminded the Respondent that Parliament was in recess, the Respondent then claimed that he was on his way to a meeting of one of the committees of Parliament, an allegation which has since turned out to be a falsehood told by the Respondent merely to evade service of the court processes on him.

“The Respondent could not have invoked on the 3rd of February 2023 because the Parliament of Ghana was on recess at that time.”

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) is investigating allegations of conflict of interest against Pastor Kusi Boateng.

Ablakwa asked the commission on Monday, January 16 to investigate a payment of GH₵2.6 million to JNS Talent – a company that is said to be running an incubator in Dawhenya.

The company in question will belong to Victor Kusi Boateng, secretary of the National Secretariat of the Church under a different identity.
