Ebony Reigns Early Life
Ebony Reigns was born on February 16, 1997 as Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra. She grew up with her siblings in the municipality of Accra but is from the Brong Ahafo region. Her parents are Nana Poku Kwarteng and Beatrice Oppong Martin. Ebony is called Nana Heemaa (Oheema) by her relatives.

She started her basic education at Seven Great Princess Academy, Dansoman, Accra and continued her secondary education at Mamfe Methodist Girls’ High School, North Akuapim District, Eastern Region, Ghana.

The young talent was discovered by the label owner turned musician Bullet and signed to his Ruff Town records as his first gig.
She released her first single, “Dancefloor”, in December 2015, with a video and audio release. The song became a radio hit, earning her a nomination in the “uncredited” category at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards.
In March 2016, Ebony released the single “Kupe”. She is signed to Ruff Town Records and Midas Touch Inc. She then released several hit songs and toured the continent before her death in 2018.

Ebony Reigns Death
Ebony Reigns was killed instantly in a road accident on 8 February 2018 while returning from Sunyani to Accra after visiting her mother. Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and Private Atsu Vondee were also killed in the fatal crash. The only person who survived the fatal crash was the driver. She died eight days before her 21st birthday.
Her final funeral rites were held in the front yard of State House, Accra, and she was buried in Osu Cemetery on Saturday, March 24, 2018. In preparation for the funeral, the late Ebony family received numerous donations from celebrities, the government and private organizations.
