A couple nearly lost their lives after nearly being executed for allegedly stealing phones and money from a Kasoa CP store in the Central Region town of Awutu Senya East.

The incident happened on the morning of Monday, February 6, 2023.

One of their accomplices, Okada Rider, managed to escape and leave the couple at the mercy of the locals.

Some victims who recounted the couple’s operation method said that when the couple entered a store, the husband pretended to buy some goods to distract the shop owner and the wife stole the goods. .

However, their luck slipped and they were caught trying to rob another store.

Some angry locals were determined to beat them up to teach them a lesson, but they took pity on the two suspects and spared their lives.

They were later handed over to the Kasoa District Police Command, where they are assisting with the investigation.

Meanwhile, five students from Ejuraman Anglican High School in Ashanti Region are in intensive care while another 35 students with minor injuries are also being treated after a makeshift catering facility collapsed on top of them following a rainstorm.

The tragic incident happened on Monday night, February 7, 2023.

Reports say five students in intensive care have suffered multiple fractures and another 35 students are being cared for by doctors on campus.

Ejura-Sekyeredumasi city fire brigade commander, Isaac Adu Yaw, confirmed the incident and said investigations had begun to find out what caused the structure to collapse.

However, he suspects that the structure in question may have been weakened by torrential rain in the area last Friday.

The incident happened when former Black Stars winger Christian Atsu, now playing for Hatayspor, was trapped under rubble in Turkey following the earthquake.

However, he was found alive 26 hours later on an ongoing rescue mission to save other victims of the disaster.

Atsu was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to reports.
