    OFFICIAL: Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I To Be Buried

    Following the sudden passing of Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I, the Overlord of Gonja State, his burial is set to take place latter today according to latest information available to InsightNewsgh.com.

    The King of the Gonjaland died on the dawn of Saturday, February 4, 2023 at his palace at Damongo in the Savannah Region.

    We can officially confirm to you that, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I will be laid to rest today, Monday, February 6, 2023 according to a close source from the family of the Overlord of Gonjaland.

    Ahead of the burial today, his mortal has been taken to Nyange on the Damongo-Sawla highway for preparations.

    According to the traditions of Gonja State, undertakers will carry the body of the late Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I from Nyange through the bushes and walk for several kilometers to Mankuma where he will be finally be interred at the Royal Mausoleum.

    Our close sources have revealed that the late Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I passed away in his sleep on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

    The late Chief of the Gonja State has been leading his people with integrity, ensuring the needed development be brought to his community under his leadership for the past 13 years,

    The late Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I was 90-years-old and has been the Overlord of the Gonjaland since 2010.

    Meanwhile, Sonyowura Adamu Kanyiti Bakari will act as an interim Yagbonwura following the death of Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I

    After the death of Overlord of the Gonja State, Sonyowura becomes the regent and therefore stays at the Yagbonwuras palace to take charge of the burial rites of Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boressah I.

    He is traditionally the Vice-President of the Gonja Traditional Council.

    He sits on the immediate right hand side of the Yagbonwura at all Gonja State meetings, which means that Sonyowura  is next to the Yagbonwura.
