Hammer, legendary beat producer has advised Ghanaian Hiplife talent, Kwame Yogot to stick to singing since that is where his true strength lies.
Hammer had this to say via his Twitter account “When rapper Kwame Yogot sent me this song a few weeks ago to review, I was so surprised to find out the entire chorus was sung by him, including the backing vocals and all. I immediately asked him to get rid of all the frivolous rap that so often waters down his songs and replace it with singing verses instead, Cos honestly the rap took away from the sincerity of the song and its conviction. I’m so glad he listened, Never too late to rediscover yourself. KWAME YOGOT is officially a singer henceforth ”
Hammer is a well-known name in the industry that is respected by all for his contribution towards the growth of the Ghanaian music industry and he is credited for the rise of some of Ghana’s finest musical talents in Sarkodie, Edem, Kwaw Kesse as well as Teephlow who have all been under the tutelage of the legendary beat maker.
Kwame Yogot on his side has revealed there is little to show for his rapping career after giving so much to the genre but seems to lack that spark his over a decade career needs. According to him “We’ve rapped for a long time but it has not given us anything. We blend it with singing and other things.”
He’ll further add his intentions of continuing with the rap genre but will be blending it with a lot of styles for purposes of commercial reception “We’ll, however, still rap but we’ll also make it a commercial sound. We’ll mix in a lot of things”
