A petition calling for the return of Honourables Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka Mubarak as Minority Leader and Minority Whip has been signed by 91 Members of Parliament running on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The petition that questions the legitimacy of Cassiel Ato Forson, Kwame Agbodza, and Emmanuel Armah Buah as the new leaders to succeed the ousted Haruna Iddrisu, Muntaka Mubarak, and James Avedzi is anticipated to garner more signatures from Members.

Nearly all NDC members of parliament from the five northern regions, as well as those from the western, central, Ashanti, Greater Accra, Bono East, and Ahafo regions, have signed thus far.

A few NDC MPs from the Volta Region claim they joined the petition because they think Avedzi James should continue rather than the New Armah Buah.

Due to a dispute within their caucus, the few dissenters who have not yet signed the petition are primarily Volta Region MPs.

“The former president did not endorse this,” he revealed based on his impression from conversations he had with the top echelon of the party.

“I have spoken to many people, and from what I’m told unless those who spoke to me are a bunch of bloody liars and so on, the former president did not appear to be very happy about this arrangement,” Mr. Pratt said on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Wednesday.
