At Winneba in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region, a Ghanaian living in the United States of America was stabbed.
After retiring and returning home, Charles Kwesi Amissah, who had previously lived and worked in the US, nearly averted death when he was attacked on Friday, January 20, 2023, by two unidentified assailants.
The person is being treated at the Winneba Special and Trauma Hospital and is in critical condition.
Two young males approached his compound in Low-cost, a neighborhood of Winneba, according to information acquired by Yaw Boagyan of Kasapa News, and one of them brandished a gun at him before realizing it was a toy gun.
Therefore, when the second thief requested his car key, he decided to take the chance and fight him. However, during the struggle, the other thief stepped in and stabbed him with a knife, leaving him defenseless.
He tried to block his V6 Toyota from being driven away by stepping behind it, but the robbers quickly reversed, pushing him to the ground beneath the vehicle.
However, a pile of bricks on the property prevented the robbers from driving away, forcing them to flee from the automobile when he yelled for aid.
His cries were heard by several neighbors, who came to his help and transported him to the hospital.
The Winneba Police Department has received a report of the incident for investigation.
This is a piece of developing news and we will bring you updates when we have access to all information after the police investigations.
These are some of the reasons old folks who are Ghanaians living abroad don’t like coming back home. Meanwhile, we wish this victim a speedy recovery.
