The Game is a Hip-Hop icon that has given so much to the Hip-Hop culture in America and to this day remains a revolutionary figure in Hip-Hop as he was part of the era-defining names. It all started in Compton and if you’re a core Hip-Hop fan, you’ll know what weight the name Compton holds as it is home to some very heavy names in Hip-Hop.
The Game right from infancy showed he was built for this rapping thing as he used to freestyle on the ‘block’ during the days and he had quite a tough upbringing which isn’t uncommon for rappers from Compton. His life would change when he met legendary beat producer Dr Dre who would take him to 50Cent to work with. 50Cent was already a big artiste and would help The Game with hooks that would produce some of the very best songs in the history of Hip-Hop with numbers that continue to rack up to this very day. Such classics as Hate It or Love it (which by the way is a personal favourite of mine), This Is How We Do, Westside and so many more which instantly made The Game a huge star on the rise with 50Cent continuing to cement his legendary status.
The Game through the help of 50 Cent and Dr Dre would 18 years ago release his second studio album ‘The Documentary’ which till this very day remains his best-selling album, yes it was that good! The album had such aforementioned songs as Higher, Where I’m from and so many classics that were part of an 18-tracklist.
