The National Cathedral project continues to be the subject of ongoing controversy. This is because additional accusations are being leveled at the project’s managers and the Akufo-Addo administration spearheading it.

Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, the founder and head of the Lighthouse Group of Churches, is the recent to add more injuries to the already problems that are not solved.

The renowned minister claimed that despite being a trustee and present at all meetings up until his departure, he was not involved in or given access to talks on the project’s financial and technical concerns.

He believes that this is unworkable, especially given the current economic climate and the lack of secured funding for the cathedral’s construction.

“Continuing to pay contractors $40,000 (forty thousand dollars) a month as we wait to procure a huge loan in this hostile atmosphere sounds dicey to me. I do believe that almost six years down the line, we need to look at a different approach to achieve our goal of building God’s house in Ghana” he added in his letter.
