A fire that destroyed the police barracks where he and his family lived and killed a police officer from the anti-robbery squad of the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
Along with the cop, his wife and child also passed away.
The family’s remains have been placed in the morgue.
Ernest Kwarteng, an assemblyman representing the Apromase/Asawase electoral district, told Citi News that they are waiting for the specialists to explain what started the fire.
“According to eyewitnesses, the fire swept through one of the rooms and as we speak, a married man, the wife and daughter are no more. They have been burnt and the body deposited at the morgue. The police came in but we are waiting for the experts to come in to tell us exactly what happened”, he said.
Meanwhile the tragic death of a police officer and his family in a fire incident has forced the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to fly to Kumasi.
