A 30-year-old commercial driver, Michael Abeiku, is on the run for allegedly killing his wife, Gifty Tetteh, 27 years old for cheating on him at Oyoko, Koforidua, in the Eastern Region.

Information gathered by insightnewsgh.com reveals that, Micheal who had some months ago threatened to commit the offense went ahead to do so on Thursday after accusing his wife of infidelity.

Relatives of the deceased also explained that Abeiku Michael after a short argument with the wife who had just returned home after going to stay with her mother for some time now inflicted multiple deep machete wounds on her limbs, neck, breast, and knees until she was left in a pool of blood.

According to them neighbours upon hearing the altercation between the couples and the physical abuse called for help but had to quickly ran to the police and report the incident but Gifty had bled out profusely and died before the arrival of the police.

Ebenezer Boadi, uncle of the deceased who spoke to the media disclosed that the police had begun their investigations.

“It’s a very sad situation, they have an unresolved issue. The husband a few months ago threatened to kill my niece for allegedly cheating on him after a man called her on phone. The husband later called the man back and the two exchanged words. My niece who was scared for her life sought a divorce, but the man begged me to settle the matter. So we were in the process of doing that and he just killed my niece. The police came to the house to take some pictures and videos,”

He said the body had been taken to the morgue for preservation while the family makes a decision on the way forward but the kids will be staying with their grandmother for the time being.

Meanwhile, The Regional Police command has been on a manhunt for the culprit, after taking over the case and are calling for the general public to help out with relevant information that could lead to his arrest.
