New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate aspirant and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Hon Kennedy Agyapong has attributed the high number of enemies he has gained for himself from the continuous defence he spearheaded for the party years ago.

He said if not for the party, he would have had no case with anybody but the number of court cases on his head all came about because of his love and loyalty to the party.

Speaking in an interview with NET 2 TV monitored by InsightNewsgh.com, he said, “Let me use this opportunity to explain the treason charge that was on me years ago, I was charged treason because of NPP. If not for NPP, all these court cases I have on my head wouldn’t have been there. In defence of NPP, I’ve had lot of cases with people, I’ve created a lot of enemies for myself because of the party.”

He further explained, “There’s a gentleman called Solomon, he was Chief Executive Officer during the Kufour administration, he came with 4 other guys to my house at Tema Community 12 with sweat all over his face that a Chief in one of the towns in the Volta region has announced for underage to go and register and that they have been beaten when they tried to resist it. My friends from Volta region should listen well today because it has become some stigma on me as at now.  A day before that too, Hon Ursula and Abu Jinapor were beaten by NDC sympathizers, furthermore, they wanted to burn things of NPP people and avoid them of voting because they were Akans.

“Due to what happened to Ursula, Abu Jinapor, Solomon and his team which made me also to say that, if Volta and Greater Accra are your strong holds so you’re beating Akans here, Ashanti region will also be used to beat Voltarians and Ga people. I was misquoted that I have said Voltarians and Ga people should be killed. They didn’t listen and I was charged with treason.”
