Outspoken Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, Hon Kennedy Agyapong has said that he used money meant for the payment of his children school fees to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leading to the 2016 general elections.
He said the party was broke and had less support from top people, which made him to take such risk of ignoring payment of his children University fees and focus on working hard for the party to gain power.
He explained his contribution to the party’s growth, both district, regional, constituency, and national base are unmatched.
“So in 2016, there was the need for me to go to the US to purchase for pick-ups for the party. I was going in March to buy the pick-ups, return in June and go for the second round later. I realized that will be late, and delay our campaign so I used my children school fees to enable me purchase all the pick-ups for the party, which I was expecting some payment to pay the fees later. I took that risk and used the children school fees for the purchase of the 120 cars for the party” Mr. Kennedy Agyapong said this in an interview with NET 2 TV.
He added, “anytime we are in Opposition, that is when I work religiously hard to bring the party to power. For the fact that you’re helping the party today because of your government work doesn’t mean we are of the same level. The time when everybody has ignored the party – Kennedy is there. That is the difference that I want to make it clear to Ghanaians and party people”.
