The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced Saturday, May 6, 2023, to elect a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for various constituencies ahead of the 2024 general elections.
A timetable released by the party on Thursday, January 5 after the party’s Functional and National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting also stated that both Presidential and Parliamentary primaries will take place concurrently.
The opening of nominations, per the timetable, would be from February 22 to February 24, 2023.
Submission and filing of forms have been scheduled for Monday, March 20, 2023, to Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
According to the report, the vetting of the aspirants would be held from Monday, March 27, 2023, to Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Appeals by aspirants will follow from March 30 to April 6.
In addition, a filling fee of GH¢500,000 has been proposed with a nomination fee of GH¢30,000 for the presidential aspirants while a fee of GH¢5000 has been proposed for the parliamentary forms with GH¢40,000 proposed as the filing fee.
